A little history
The Squire and Horse was built in the 16th century when it was originally known as The White Horse, It has been a family run freehouse by Nicholas and Wendy for over 15 years. Nicholas as the head chef originates from Australia, where he worked in many top restaurants such as Chez Oz in Sydney and Fanny’s in Melbourne where he won countless awards for his innovative and interesting food. The restaurant serves gastro style food, were we try to source as many local products and produce wherever possible.

Please remember, the guidance for pubs is no different to the guidance for the rest of the country. Please be mindful of the well-being of our staff and other customers.
We have put in place a clear In and Out system entering at the front of the pub and leaving through the garden, we are now fully wheelchair accessible throughout the pub and garden.
Hand sanitiser dispensers are located at the entrances. We will be offering table service inside and outside. Please book wherever possible to secure a table, our tables have been socially distanced as much as possible and in some cases, it will be every other table.
Please stick to the floor markers for bar service and only stay at the bar for the time it takes to complete your order. Where possible please use contactless card payment
Our toilet facilities are fairly compact, please use them mindfully and consider both your safety and the safety of other customers and staff. Children in the company of responsible adults are of course welcome. They will be expected to remain in their seats during their visit.
We are also offering a take away service of our new menu, still full of our yummy Squire and Horse Specials
